The “Delina Exclusif” Experience
This is such a beautiful, intricate rose scent! I had seen this perfume collection all over social media; however, I finally found them in person at Maison 22 Parfums in Verona, Italy. I sampled “Delina Exclusif” when my husband and I went in the store for the first time, then on our next visit we got the perfume. I was between the original “Delina” and the “Delina Exclusif”. I chose the “Delina Exclusif” over the original eau de parfum because after wearing it for an hour, I could pick out the incense note, and my husband mentioned that it smelt more of vanilla. This brings me to my next observation of the original versus the intense version of perfumes. Ever since I started learning about perfumes, I was surprised to learn how the notes are different between the eau de parfum and the intense version of the same perfume. My understanding is that the intense versions of perfumes have higher perfume oil, so they characteristically last longer. Since the intense version of perfumes is also more pungent, people who like the original version will not always like the intense version. Depending on the perfume, a longer and sharp scent might not be the way to go if you prefer fresher scents or if the perfume itself has lighter notes. Some intense perfumes will perform better throughout the duration of wearing it, and that is what I found with wearing “Delina Exclusif”. The incense gives the perfume more of a complex aroma since it is spicy and woody. Both perfumes have the heart/middle note of the Turkish Rose. It smells so floral and feminine! I would wear this perfume on summer nights, brisk winter mornings, and day through night during the springtime. On the Parfums de Marly website they mention the process of obtaining the essence of the damascene rose from the region of Isparta in Turkey. Reading more about the “Delina” collection on their website reinforced my appreciation for perfume brands that go the extra mile to have the freshest ingredients in the perfumes.
Outside of running this perfume blog, I am also a cheer coach. I recently took up tumbling lessons for myself to get more flexible and learn more skills to help my cheerleaders. My Italian gymnastics coach is so kind and specific with coaching that I wish I could have had her as my first coach when I started cheerleading back in 2013. She complimented my perfume, and she could smell it lingering after I left the gym. She was referring to the sillage of this perfume! So, I take it as this perfume stands the test of a sweaty workout and I got through a gymnastics lesson that I haven’t done in 6 years. Go me and “Delina Exclusif”!
In the video, I unboxed my “Delina Exclusif” at a winery in Vo’, Italy! It is called “Villa Sceriman”, and we were able to sit out outside under their whimsical pergola to enjoy their rosé and a charcuterie board for a late lunch. It was so nice to indulge in fruity wine and savory snacks while in the sillage of rose, lychee, vanilla, and incense from the perfume!
