My Wedding Day Perfume

‘White Tea’ by Elizabeth Arden was my wedding day perfume. This fragrance encompassed everything that I felt on my wedding day: fresh like Mandarin Orange, special like White Iris, and full of love like Amber/Ambrette. It just so happens to come in a sleek, white bottle too! We got married on May 7th, 2022, and I wanted a fragrance that matched the season and the historical day in our life. This selection was a hard decision! This was not my everyday perfume, and my fiancé had never smelt it on me before. I knew that the moment I became a wife that my whole world and my responsibilities would change (for the good!). With that, I wanted to start this journey feeling as feminine and as composed as I possibly could. The surprising part is that I didn’t do any research of wedding day perfumes prior to making my selection.

This is also my first perfume by Elizabeth Arden. Although I grew up with my mom wearing Elizabeth Arden’s infamous feminine and glorious ‘Red Door’ perfume as her signature perfume, it wasn’t quite a suitable fragrance for myself and the occasion; however, I’m happy to have picked out another Elizabeth Arden perfume to wear on my wedding day so that my mom and I could form a memorable bond.

My opinion of ‘White Tea’ is that it is perfect for summertime and when I misted it onto my wedding gown, I was able to smell it throughout the duration of the ceremony and reception. It was not overbearing either, so I could have applied it throughout the day without worrying that someone else was getting a headache from the scent.

Now that our first wedding anniversary has passed, I have learned more about this perfume. ‘White Tea’ belongs to the chypre fragrance family. This fragrance family is a term used for the grouping of citrus, floral, amber, and musk notes. Most chypre fragrance families smell woody, but ‘White Tea’ encompasses sea notes and Mandarin Orange in which lessens the harshness of woody scents. It sounds like a lot going on in one perfume, but ‘White Tea’ is fresher and lighter than any other perfume I own. I normally don’t wear citrus scents, so having Mandarin Orange as a top note in a perfume of mine was something new! I will be purchasing ‘White Tea’ in the future.
